4 c. granulated sugar
1 can evaporated milk (small)
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. peanut butter
1 tbsp. butter (softened)
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a large pot, bring the sugar, milk and 2 tbsp. butter to a boil. Reduce heat and stir constantly to avoid sticking. Cook for about 15 minutes on low,until a soft ball forms when a small amount is dropped into cold water. Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter, 1 tbsp. butter and vanilla. Stir vigorously and pour into a lightly buttered 8 or 9 inch pan. Cool completely and cut into squares. Store in air tight container.

This recipe is courtesy of Mike's mom, Betty. Also known as Grammy. For many years she made this recipe at Christmas. She would be so nervous until all of her fudge batches were done and turned out smooth and not sandy. I am proud to add her recipe to our cookbook.
