Ingredients:  
3/4 c sugar
1 c butter
1 egg
2 c flour
1 tsp cream of tarter
1/2 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all together and roll into balls. Press flat with bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 350 for about 10 minutes.
Frost with cream cheese frosting. Add sprinkles if desired.

These are the best sugar cookies I ever ate, and I didn't even like sugar cookies. They stay soft and have a wonderful flavor and texture. Irene Berndt gave her baby brother Gene a big box of cookies a couple times a month, and these were always included.
