1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 TBSP vanilla
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups oatmeal
1 bag chocolate chips
Nuts - if you want them

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350.

Cream together the sugar, brown sugar and shortening. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well. Add the flour, baking soda and salt and mix well. Add the oatmeal. Mix the chocolate chips, nuts(if wanted) and oatmeal in with your hands so you don't break the oatmeal. The dough should be firm, kind of dry and sticky. You may need to add more oatmeal to the mix. Tea spoon to a cookie sheet and bake 10 - 14 minutes.
