CHOCOLATE –MINT SNOW-TOP COOKIES (Better Homes and Gardens)

1 ½ cups all purpose flour
¼ teas. Salt
1 ½ teas. Baking powder
1 ½ cup semisweet chocolate pieces
6 Tbls. butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 ½ teas. Vanilla
¼ teas. Mint flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside. In
a small saucepan, heat 1 cup of the chocolate pieces over low heat until melted,
stirring constantly.

In a large mixing bowl beat butter with mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds.
Beat in sugar until fluffy. Beat in melted chocolate, eggs, vanilla, and mint flavoring.

Gradually beat in the flour mixture and remaining chocolate pieces. Wrap dough in
Plastic wrap. Freeze for 30 minutes or until firm enough to shape into balls.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Shape dough into 1 inch balls; roll balls in powdered
Sugar. Place balls about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in pre-
Heated oven for 10 to12 minutes or until tops are crackled. Cool 2 minutes on
Cookie sheet. Transfer to wire racks and cool. Makes 42
