1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ cup butter or regular stick margarine at room temperature
¾ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¾ cup chips: mint-chocolate, semisweet chocolate, butterscotch, peanut butter, vanilla-milk, or a combination

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Have cookie sheet ready
2. Mix flour, cocoa and baking soda
3. Beat butter, sugar, egg and vanilla in a large bowl with electric mixer until well blended.
4. With mixer on low speed, gradually add flour mixture. Beat just until blended.
5. Stir in chips. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
6. Bake 11 to 13 minutes until tops look dry. Cookies will feel soft.
7. Cool chocolate jumbles on cookie sheet on wire rack to cool completely.
