2/3 C Crisco
3/4 C white sugar
1/2 tsp grated orange peel
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
4 tsp milk
2 C flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
Best cookie frosting:
1 1/2 C Crisco
2 lbs. powdered sugar
1/2 C milk
3/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together Crisco, sugar, orange peel and vanilla. Add to this the egg and milk. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt; then blend this into the creamed mixture. Chill for easier handling. Roll to 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured board. Cut into desired shapes. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375º for 6-8 minutes. Cool and remove to wire rack.
Cream together all frosting ingredients and beat for about 5 minutes. Use food coloring as desired and frost cookies as desired. Let cookies air dry1 hour before putting in airtight container or plastic zip lock baggies.
