Oven at 350

1 stick butter
½ cup shortening
1 Cup packed brown sugar
1 Cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 T milk
2 Cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
3 Cup quick oats (Note: I personally make this recipe with rolled oats with success)
1 Tbls cinnamon
2 tsp clove
½ tsp nutmeg
1 tsp salt
1- 1\2 Cups raisins
1 Cups walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar and spices until very fluffy.
Add eggs.
Mix dry ingredients (minus oats) separately and add ½ Cup at a time.
Add oats and raisins (and walnuts if using) alternately.
Mix until evenly combined.
Let dough rest 20-30 min in the fridge.
Scoop onto parchment lined baking sheets and back 15-16 minutes until browned at edges.

I'm sure everyone has a story about these cookies. I've eaten many versions of oatmeal raisin cookies in my life, but these are the best.

As many cookies as this recipe makes, if the uncles are around you’ll likely need two batches. They have a tendency to disappear in a hurry.
