3 1/2 C flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/3 C butter
1/3 C shortening
2 C brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1 egg
1/2 C sour cream
1 pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 C chopped nuts, optional
Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg and set aside.

Blend together butter, shortening, sugar, and vanilla. Add egg and beat well. Add chocolate chips and chopped nuts. Combine with flour mixture and add sour cream. Pack firmly in waxed paper and roll to make a log. Chill for several hours or overnight. Slice lengthwise in thirds then cross way in 1/8 pieces. Place on cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes at 400º.

Makes about 4 dz cookies.
