4 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup shortening
9 eggs
bottle of anise flavoring
Frosting:
2 cups confectioners sugar
Milk to spreading consistency
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, sugar and baking powder.
Cut in shortening; Add 9 eggs (which I have mixed together ahead of time with the anise added). Be generous with the anise. Aunt Debbie will often use a whole bottle. I had the concentrate, so I used alot less (probably 1/4 to 1/2 tsp.)
Bake at 350 for about 10 mins. Like a small cake cookie.
I put a confectionary sugar glaze on after they come out of the over and are still warm
Mix the 2 cups confectionary sugar with milk or cream to a glaze consistency. Add vanilla and mix.

Rick loves these!!! You can add sprinkles to the glaze immediately after you glaze them. This recipe was from Aunt Debbie; she got it from her first husband's italian family.
