Maraschino cherries

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Melt butter in two round 8X8 pans over low heat.
3. Remove pan from heat and sprinkle brown sugar over butter.
4. Drain pineapple rings (save juice).
5. Place the pineapple rings on the brown sugar mixture, starting with one in the middle and cutting them in half to make a nice pattern around the edges. Half a maraschino cherry goes in the center of each ring.
6. Mix up the cake mix according to the box and pour half in each pan.
7. Bake according to box directions.
8. When cake is done, let stand in pan on cake rack ten minutes. Loosen sides from pan with spatula. Invert serving plate on top. Then with one hand under the pan and one hand on top plate, turn the two together until the cake rests fruit-side up on the plate. Remove the pan.
