1/2 cup of Crisco
1/2 cup of butter
1/2 cup of packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together the butter, Crisco, and the two sugars. Add the egg and vanilla. Mix well. Sift together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Mix into the butter mixture until combined. Fold in pecans. Roll cookies into small balls and dip into milk, then into white sugar. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350º for 15 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet before completely cooled to avoid browning too much.
