2 large onions-finely chopped
2 oz. butter
1/2 T. flour
1 can beef consommé
1 can water
4 oz. swiss cheese

4 1" thick slices of French or other firm bread.

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onions in butter until soft. Sprinkle flour over onions. Add consommé and water slowly, stirring. Cook over low heat 25 minutes-stirring occasionally.

In individual heat proof- bowls place:
Piece of bread. Soup and slice of cheese. Broil until cheese melts and bubbles.
