Notes: Chocolate Tangos, as we called the cookies, were a popular lunchroom treat in the Lincoln County School System that my Grandmother Scott and Aunt Helen prepared for the children in the Howell School. When I was growing up, every other Sunday, my family would go to either Grandmother Scotts or Grandma Thomason's house for Sunday lunch and playing with cousins. At both homes wonderful meals were always prepared. Grandmother Scott gave us many of the recipes that were used in the Howell School. Chocolate Tangos were a favorite at my home growing up which were made by my mother and a favorite at my own Hardin home.
