2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together 2 cups flour and 1/2 tsp salt.

Cream thoroughly 3/4 cup shortening (Crisco) and 1/4 cup butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar.

Blend into the creamed mixture 1 tsp vanilla and 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts.

Gradually add dry ingredients into this creamed mixture and blend until smooth.

Shape into small balls, place on ungreased cookie sheet. Take a fork and lightly flatten,

Bake 25 minutes at 325 º. Roll in powdered sugar while they are still warm.
