Grandma’s Horseradish Cheese Ball Recipe

Ingredients: 2 8 ounce packages cream cheese, softened 1 tablespoon horseradish (I like a little more horseradish) 1 teaspoon celery salt 1/2 teaspoon onion salt 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt 1 cup shredded dried beef Parsley flakes or chopped nuts

Directions:DAY BEFORE: In small bowl with electric mixer at medium speed, blend cream cheese until smooth. Mix in horseradish and salts; add dried beef, mixing until well blended.
With hands, shape mixture into a ball. Wrap with waxed paper or plastic wrap; refrigerate overnight. When firm, reshape ball with hands and roll in parsley flakes or chopped nuts. Cover and refrigerate. Serve with Triscuits or other crackers. |

Notes: Grandma: I first made this cheese ball for a Derby Party in 1972 and have served it at almost every other time we entertained a large group. I like to divide into two balls—one parsley and one nuts. Also, a hint for forming ball with your hands, wet your hands before handling mixture. 12/09/05
Mom: Grandma brought this on Thanksgiving Day 2005 and everyone loved it. Your Dad and I finished it off the next evening
