1cup powdered sugar
1egg
1cup Crisco
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup milk
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups cake flour

Icing: 1tbs each melted butter, Karo syrup, water and Wesson oil.
1 drop red food coloring or whatever color you wish.
Pinch salt
1tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp milk
Add powdered sugar to make a smooth thick consistency and spoon into thumb print on top of cooled cookie.

Combine sugar, egg and shortening. Add other ingredients ending with flour. Mix until smooth. Roll into a log powdering with flour. Cut into 3/4" slices. Press thumb print into top of each cookie. Bake 375 degrees about 10 minutes. Ice when cool.
