1 C. butter
1 1/2 C. sugar
1 C. chopped walnuts
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 C. chopped dates
2 tbsp. milk
4 C. Rice Krispies
1 pkg. coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together butter, sugar, dates, eggs, milk, vanilla, & salt in saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil 2 minutes. COOL.
Add nuts & cereal. Form into 1 inch balls, roll in coconut. Put on waxed paper. Store in airtight container.

I got this recipe from Mary Jean Welk in the late '60's, and I've made them for Christmas every year since! Extra hands are a great help. My kids always helped. After I shaped the balls, the kids would roll them in the coconut. My last helper was Skylar, just last year!
