1 cup margarine or butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 tsp. almond, lemon, or vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix butter and sugar. Mix in remaining ingredients. Place dough in cookie press, form desired shapes on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until set but not brown (6-9 minutes). Immediately remove from cookie sheet.

Chocolate Spritz - Stir 2 ounces melted unsweetened chocolate (cool) into margarine mixture.

Christmas Decorated Spritz - Before baking, top with raisins, candies, nuts, , colored sugar, etc., or use drops of corn syrup to add decorations on baked cookies. If desired, add green food coloring to the dough to make trees, wreaths, etc.
