Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4 cups finely ground potato, drained
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
Meat broth for cooking - we use chicken or beef

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients well. Dip hands in cold water and shape mix into desired size balls - golf ball on up to slightly smaller than tennis ball.

Drop into boiling meat broth. Shake kettle occasionally to prevent sticking. Cover and cook for 30 minutes to one hour, depending on ball size.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Oh gosh - what can I say?? Another Norwegian national dish - land of potatoes and fish!

Grandma Peterson called these "sinkers", and for good reason! They sink like a stone in the stomach, and are very filling - just the thing for a house full of kids (7) and Mom and Dad. You could add them to a vegetable soup, but I always liked them just cut up with some butter melted over them.
