4 2/3 cup sugar
4 cups vinegar
2 cups water
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
Pepper

Directions:
Bring to boil, turn to low and simmer 20 minutes. Pour over already cooked beets, sliced or chunked in canning jars. Fill to jar neck. Enough brine for 10 pints = 1 peck beets. *Cold pack as directed.
