4 squares (4 ounces) unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c shortening
3 beaten eggs
2 cups sugar
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
2 c all-purpose flour
2/3 c sifted powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Place chocolate and shortening in a small saucepan. Cook and stir over low heat until melted. Cool 15 minutes.
Combine eggs, sugar, baking powder, vanilla, and salt in a large bowl. Add chocolate mixture. Gradually add flour, stirring until thoroughly combined. Cover; chill 2 hours or until easy to handle.
Shape dough into 1" balls. Roll in powdered sugar to coat generously. Place 2" apart on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake in a 375º oven about 10 minutes or until edges are just set. Transfer to rack to cool.
