3/4 c. butter or vegetable shortening
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
2 egg yolks
1/2 c. boiling strong coffee
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
4 c. sifted flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then beat in molasses and egg yolks. MIx coffee with ginger, cinnamon, cloves, soda, and salt. Stir into batter, mix in flour about one cup at a time. Chill dough several hours or until firm enough to roll, then roll out about 1/4 of the dough at a time to a thickness of 1/8 in. on a lightly floured board and cut with a floured 2 in. cookie cutter. Arrange cookies 1 in. apart on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350º 10-12 minutes until firm to the touch and lightly brown around edges.
