3/4 c. butter
2 egg yolks or 1 egg beaten
2 c. sifted pastry or cake flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
12 candied cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Mix in butter and beaten egg, then flour and baking powder which have been sifted together. Roll out to thickness of 1/4" on lightly floured board and cut with round cookie cutter. With pointed knife make 4 or 6 cuts almost into center of cookie at equal distance. Fold the 4 or 6 points to center as a pinwheel and press a piece of candied cherry into center. Bake in medium-low over (325º) until cookies are delicately browned, about 15 minutes.
