1 3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Measure ingredients into bowl. Mix thoroughly. Shape into a ball. Roll out about 1/8 inch thick. Cut cookies shapes as desired. Bake for 6-8 minutes. Cool slightly before placing on cooling racks.

Hints: Thin dough with water and add food coloring to decorate with decorating bag instead of icing.

May use almond or orange flavoring instead of vanilla.

Busy moms try rolling into small 1 inch balls and press flat on the cookie sheet with glass dipped in sugar.
