Crust:
3/4 cup shortening
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. oats
2 c. flour
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda

Filling:
3-1/2 c. apricots (18 oz.) - can use dried (see below), canned, or fresh
1/2 c. sugar
2 TBS flour
1 c. chopped dates

Directions:
Directions:
1.Cream sugar and shortening, add vanilla, flour, oats & soda and blend. For filling, cook dried apricots in enough water to cover until soft. Add other ingredients and mix.

2.Spread half of crust mixture to make a layer in bottom of pan, put in filling and top with rest of crust mixture.

3.Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until bubbly and crust is browned.
