1 pound butter
2 cups sugar
4 cups unsifted flour
2 beaten egg yolks
2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together well. Roll the mixture into logs and wrap the logs in wax paper.

REFRIDGERATE OVERNIGHT.

Next day:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Slice cookies very very thin.
Place cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet and
Add sprinkles or cherry pieces on top.

Bake the cookies no more than seven minutes. Watch closely!
Allow sides to get just a bit golden-not golden in center.
Remove from the oven and allow cookies to remain on the cookie sheets until you can touch it.
tap the bottom of the sheet to loosen cookies and remove them by hand.
