3 cups sugar
1 cup boiling water
4 Tbsp. white corn syrup
2 Tbsp. butter
2. Tbsp. Vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, water, syrup, butter and vinegar together. Wipe down sides of kettle. Cover and bring slowly to the boiling pt. Watching closely. Remove cover and cook to crack stage or 275º on candy thermometer. Add flavoring. Pour onto a large buttered plater or marble cutting board, cool until just warm from edge to center. With buttered hands pull Taffy until it is white and it looses it's gloss. Stretch it out in long ropes, break or cut into small pieces. Wrap pieces in wax paper.

Francis requested this recipe with many fond memories of the taffy pulling parties we had with Connie when she was going to school in California. He also wanted me to add the best way to color taffy is with Connie's red finger nail polish.
