1 c. butter/margarine
3 T. water
1 c. sugar
1 T. light corn syrup
3/4 c. milk chocolate wafers/chips
1 c. sliced almonds, toasted, divide in half

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in heavy saucepan. Add sugar. Stir over medium heat until dissolved. Add 3 T. water and 1 T. corn syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring often to soft crack stage, 290º, you must use a candy thermometer!
Upon reaching 290º, quickly stir in1/2 toasted almonds. Quickly spread mixture on a buttered cookie sheet. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over top; let stand a few minutes. Spread chocolate evenly over top with a knife. Sprinkle remaining almonds on top. Chill to firm. Break into small pieces and store in airtight container.
