Grandma Werby's Rum Cake

• 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
• 1 pkg. yellow cake mix with pudding OR add 1 pkg (3 ¾ oz) vanilla pudding
• 4 eggs
• ½ cup cold water
• ½ cup Wesson oil
• ½ cup amber rum

Glaze:
• ¼ lb butter
• ½ cup water
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• ½ cup rum

Directions:

Grease and flour 10” tube or 12 C bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts over bottom of pan. Mix all cake ingredients together. Pour over nuts. Bake for 1 hour at 325 C. Cool. Invert onto serving plate. Prick top. Drizzle and smooth glaze evenly over top and sides.

Directions for Glaze:
Melt butter in sauce pan. Stir in water and sugar. Boil 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in rum.
