1/2 cup margarine
1/2 - 3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup dates, chopped
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups rice krispies
Directions:
Directions:
In frying pan, sauté first 5 ingredients for 5 minutes at medium heat. Add the chopped nuts and sauté additional 10 minutes - stirring often.

Remove from heat and add vanilla. Cool 5 minutes.

Add rice krispies; roll into balls, then roll in flaked coconut (white or toasted). These freeze well.
