1 cup butter or 2 squares margarine
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
¼ tsp salt
2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix in order given. Roll in small balls (about 1 tsp dough) and press with a fork which has been dipped in milk or cream (criss-cross). Add a small piece of green or red cherry centre of each cookie. Bake about 10 minutes in a moderate oven (275˚F).

These are easy and quick to make and really crispy. The children like them. Makes about 60 cookies.
