1 egg
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
1 cup melted butter
1/4 cup finely chopped almonds
2 1/2 cups sifted white flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 teaspoon all spice
1 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Beat the egg.
Add the sugar and syrup, mixing well.
Add the butter and chopped almonds, and beat until well mixed.
Sift the flour with the soda and spices.
Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, continuing to mix well until a stiff dough is formed.
Chill.
Rollout to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into rounds or animal shapes and place on al lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes or until the cookies feel firm when touched. makes about 36 cookies.
