2/3 cup sugar
1/8 t salt
3 level T corn starch
1 ½ T flour (mix dry ingredients)
3 egg yolk (save egg whites for meringue)
3 total cups of milk. - Heat 2 1/2 of the cups of milk until hot. Mix remaining 1/2 milk w/above ingredients. And poor slowly into hot milk. Heat to boiling while continuously stirring. Slow boil until thick. Remove from heat and add below
1 cup coconut
1 ½ t vanilla.

Meringue
1 T corn starch
2 T cold water to dissolve above
Mix into ½ cup hot water and bring to boil until clear
Set off to side until cold
Using beaters, take 3 egg whites and ¼ t cream of tartar, beat until well mixed, add 5 T sugar slowly (by T) . Mix until stiff. Spread over pie

Bake 375 for 12-14 minutes
