"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Dash of salt
Evaporated milk, enough to moisten, about 2 T
Peanut butter, about 1 cup (I like creamy)

Directions:
Mix together sugar, butter, vanilla, salt and enough milk to moisten. Mix until smooth and creamy (I use my hands). Divide in half and roll each piece 1/4" thick in an oblong shape in between sheets of waxed paper. Remove top sheet of wax paper; spread each half with peanut butter. Roll jellyroll fashion (starting with long side) and wrap in waxed paper. Chill.
Slice into slices.
Simple to make - everyone's favorite!

Personal Notes:
The first thing my mother ever let me "cook" when I was a child were these peanut butter candies. I still love them to this day.
