2/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup softened butter
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup molasses
2 Tbsp milk
1 large egg
1 1/2 cup white whole wheat flour
2 1/2 cup toasted chopped walnuts

Directions:
Step 1: In a large bowl beat together brown sugar,butter,baking powder,vanilla,cinnamon,ginger and salt until light in color and smooth
Step 2: Beat in the milk and molasses until blended
Step 3: Beat in the egg,(mixture will look curdled)
Step 4: Beat in flour until just blended
Step 5: Stir in the walnuts
Step 6: Cover and chill for about 30 minutes or until chilled
Step 7: Preheat the oven to 350º
Step 8: Line baking sheets with parchment paper
Step 9: Drop about 2 1/2 tablespoons of dough per cookie onto prepared baking sheets
Step 10: slightly flatten each dough ball with the back of a fork
Step 11: Bake 11-13 minutes or until set and light brown around the edges,(DO NOT OVERBAKE)
Step 12: Cool completely on a wire rack
