1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs (unbeaten)
1 c. nuts
1 or 2 pkgs. semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 c. quick oatmeal (uncooked)
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour with soda and salt. Cream shortening,add sugar gradually. Cream until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time,beating well after each addition. Add sifted dry ingredients. Add nuts,chocolate, and quick oats. Mix thoroughly. Add vanilla. Drop by spoonfuls on cookie sheet. Bake at 350* until edges start turning brown.
