1c brightly colored hard candies (i.e. Jolly Ranchers or Life Savers)
1 stick butter, softened
1/2c sugar
1/2tsp vanilla
1 egg
1 1/2c flour

Directions:
Directions:
1) Place unwrapped candies in plastic zipper bag and seal. Wrap bag in dish towel. Use hammer to break candy into small bits. Place aluminum foil on a baking sheet and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
2) Combine butter, sugar, and vanilla in mixing bowl. Beat egg and add to butter mixture. Stir in flour and form dough.
3) Roll a thin rope of dough about 3 inches long and 1/4 inch thick for the butterfly body. Lay on foil. Make 2 more thin ropes of dough to form wings. Press ends of wings securely into body.
4) Bake cookies 4 minutes. Remove baking sheet. Carefully place 1 1/2 teaspoons of candy pieces inside wings. Return cookies to oven and bake until candy is just melted and dough is light brown, about 5-7 more minutes.
5) Remove baking sheet from oven and let cookies stand until completely cool, about 30 minutes. Peel off foil backs.
