Approx 1 peck sm cucumbers
Canning jars and lids
Bay leaves
Fresh garlic cloves, peeled


Syrup:
4 c sugar
3 c vinegar
3 c water
2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp dill seed

Directions:
Directions:
Clean pickles; cut into quarters, strips or chunks. Fill clean quart jars with pickles.
Combine syrup ingredients and heat until sugar is completely dissolved. Pour over pickles. Top each jar with a bay leaf and a chunk of fresh garlic. Add lids to jars, making sure there is no syrup residue around tops of jars. Put jars into a canner. As soon as water begins to bubble, reduce heat and time for 10 min. Remove jars and let sit on counter until all of the lids are sealed.
