Directions:
Brown the stew meat or hamburger and drain fat. (If using chicken, cook in the broth and do not drain.)
Add 1 can of beef broth and 1 can of water to meat. If making a larger batch you can use 4-5 cans of each.
Add vegetables of choice (carrots, onions, celery, cabbage).
Heat this to a boil and then lower to a simmer for several hours or until the vegetables or tender.
For the dumplings:
Mix 2 cups of flour, dash of salt, dash of salt and pepper, 1 egg and milk to make a soft, sticky dough. (If you are making a larger batch, use 3 cups of flour (or more), sugar, salt and pepper, 2 eggs and milk to make a soft, sticky dough.)
Bring soup to a boil (add potatoes if desired) and add dumplings by the spoonful into the soup. Cook for 30 to 45 minutes until they are cooked through.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I like to make the soup and let it cool overnight then reheat and add the dumplings the next day.
