3/4 cup spry (Boy, did I get a laugh out of this) Shortening made by Lever Brothers created in 1936!
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 1/2 cups sifted brown sugar (firmly packed)
2 eggs (well beaten)
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 cup seedless raisins
1 tsp. soda
1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/4 cup milk

Directions:
Combine spry, salt, spices and blend. Add brown sugar and cream well. Add beaten eggs and mix thoroughly. Add rolled oats.& raisins, mixing well. Sift soda with flour - add to creamed mixture, alternately with milk, mix well. Drop from teaspoon on baking sheets with Spry. Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees - 12 to 15 minutes.
