1 cup sour cream
2 cups sugar, separated
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 stick butter or margarine
nuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Grease and flour tube pan. Preheat oven to 375º. Mix 1 cup sugar and cinnamon (and nuts or chocolate chips if desired).together in small bowl and set aside for in between the layers. In another bowl, mix sour cream and baking soda and let stand. Meanwhile, put flour and baking powder in a third bowl. In a large bowl, beat together remaining cup sugar and butter/margarine. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla and beat until smooth. Alternating, add portions of the sour cream and flour mixtures to the large bowl until finished. Beat together until smooth. Put 1/3 of dough in bottom of tube pan and spread it evenly around. Sprinkle 1/3 of the sugar and cinnamon mixture on top. Put second layer of dough followed by the cinnamon sugar on top. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
