Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 cups water, 3 cups sugar, 2 cups white corn syrup, 1 tsp., food coloring (red, green), 1 tsp., anise oil

Directions:
Directions:
mix all together on medium heat and boil to crack stage. this may take 1-3 hours to achieve. Only stir until all is dissolved in the beginning and you don't need to stir this all the time, once dissolved only periodically. Once it has come to the crack stage remove from heat add the anise oil. Once it has completely cooled .... break into pieces. Mom would always score it when it was half way cooled. By that she would take a knife and cut only 1/8 into the candy like squares. This makes for a more uniform square. I just break it up!!

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
You may want to take this outside to add the anise oil!! I remember mom always did, but when I first made it on my own I thought ohhhh....I don't need to go outside....WRONG!! Too funny, because the house was filled with the smell, not that it is bad but really strong at first!! Careful when stirring in the oil, because it is very hot!!
