Ingredients:

4 T flour
4 T crisco, butter, or the oil that you fried that chicken or chicken fried steak in
2 1/3 cups cold milk
1/8 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the oil in a skillet, add the flour and stir with a whisk, constantly, until the flour mixture is a light brown color. Add the salt and pepper then add the milk all at once, whisking constantly. Gravy will thicken, if too thick, add a little more milk or water.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is the gravy you want to serve over biscuits, with fried chicken, on top of mashed potatoes, and definitely with chicken fried steak. This brings me back home every time I have it and for a breakfast dish just add browned sausage crumbles!
