1/4 C MILK
3 EGGS SEPARATED
1/4 C SUGAR
1/4 TSP NUTMEG
1/8 TSP SALT
1/2 C MILK
1 T BRANDY OR 1 1/2 TSP RUM FLAVORING OR VANILLA
1/4 C SUGAR
1/2 C HEAVY CREAM WHIPPED

1 9' WALNUT CRUMB CRUST

SOFTEN GELATIN IN THE 1/4 C MILK, IN TOP OF DOUBLE BOILER.
BEAT EGG YOLKS TOGETHER WITH THE 1/4 C SUGAR, NUTMEG & SALT. STIR IN THE 1/2 C MILK & COOK & STIR OVER HOT WATER UNTIL MIXTURE THICKENS & COATS A SPOON. ADD SOFTENED GELATIN & STIR TILL GELATIN IS DISSOLVED. COOL. ADD FLAVORING. BEAT EGG WHITES UNTIL STIFF. GRADUALLY BEAT IN REMAINING 1/4 C SUGAR. FOLD INTO GELATIN MIXTURE. FOLD IN WHIPPED CREAM. POUR INTO CHILLED SHELL & CHILL UNTIL FIRM. SERVE GARNISHED WITH ADDITIONAL WHIPPED CREAM DECORATED WITH WALNUT HALVES.
