2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
1 cup butter or margarine
1 tsp vanilla
4 beaten eggs
5 cups flour
2 tsps baking soda
4 tsps cream of tarter
Pinch of nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, shortening and butter. Add vanilla and beaten eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add to wet mixture. Mix well. Can refrigerate dough for easier handling. Roll dough on floured surface and cut into shapes. Add coloured sprinkles if you like. Bake at 375º for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.

This cookie recipe was another Holiday favorite. The kids enjoyed sprinkling red and green coloured sugar on them and of course, eating them when they were done.
