1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. shortening (butter flavor preferred)
1/2 c. lightly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1/2-3/4 jar of creamy peanut butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Sift the flour, salt and baking soda in a small bowl. In a large bowl, mix together the shortening, brown sugar, and sugar. Add in the water, vanilla and egg. Once combined, add the peanut butter. Roll spoonfulls into small balls and smash with fork, creating a criss cross pattern. Bake until golden brown, approximately 8-11 minutes. Makes 6 dozen.
