2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar, divided
1/2 c. strawberry jam

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter and 1/2 cup of sugar in a large bowl at med. speed until light and fluffy. Add vanilla - mix until well blended. Add flour mixture, about 1/2 cup at a time. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm, about 20 minutes. Preheat oven to 325º. Shape dough into 1 inch balls - roll in sugar. Place about 2 inches apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake cookies for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and make indentations in the cookies using the back side of a tsp. measure. Fill with strawberry jam, but do not overfill them. Return to oven until golden brown - about 10 more minutes. Cool on wire racks.
