2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 cup water
Small bottle of cherries
Dipping chocolate (dark or sweet)
Shelled pecan halves

Directions:
Directions:
Cook sugar, water and cream of tartar until mixture forms soft ball when dropped in cold water. Let cool until it wrinkles when pan is turned to side. Beat until too stiff to beat then pour on butter plate. Butter hands and knead until smooth and creamy. With fingers, form small balls, flatten and place half a cherry in center. Fold over and press edges together. Dip in dark chocolate with silver fork. Place on wax paper. Place half a pecan on top and let harden. Sweet chocolate may be used to dip creams if preferred.
