3 cups shortening
3 cups brown sugar
3 cups white sugar
5 eggs
6 tbs water
3 tsp vanilla
5 cups flour
3 1/2 tsp soda
3 tsp salt
7 cups oats
2 pkg 12 oz choc. chips
1 or 2 cups chopped walnuts

Directions:

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs (unbeaten) then add rest of ingredients and mix. Bake at 300 for 15 minutes. This recipe makes about 14 dozen medium cookies. you may want to cut it in half. Batter can be frozen and baked later
