2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour into mixing bowl, add soda, salt and baking powder. Cut in shortening until mixture is coarse and crumbly. Add buttermilk and stir until dough follows your fork. Put dough 1/2 in thick on floured board and cut. Place on lightly greased baking sheet and brush lightly with butter and bake 15 min at 450º. Makes 16 biscuits.
